Hank Quense, author and self-publishing expert, will lead a two part series on “Creating Stories” for anyone who would like to learn how to write or continue writing! This workshop will take place over two consecutive Mondays, March 9 and 16 from 6pm-8pm. “Creating Stories” is free and open to the public and will take place at The Cedar Grove Free Public Library, located at 1 Municipal Plaza in Cedar Grove (behind the post office). To RSVP please write to firstname.lastname@example.org or at the library front desk or by calling the library at 973 239 1447.
This lecture series provides the attendees with a solid grounding in the design elements and storytelling techniques required by all stories including short stories, novels, memoirs and scripts. Hank will discuss the three components of putting a story together: ideas, story design and the storytelling. Participants will learn to harness their creativity and fashion a story in a way that will hold their readers’ interest.
Hank Quense writes humorous, satiric Sci-Fi and fantasy stories as well as non-fiction guides for authors on topics such as story design and how to self-publish. Quense has published 14 books and 50 short stories along with a few dozen articles. He often lectures on fiction writing and publishing and has a series of guides covering the basics on each subject.
